Camberwell pubs history index
According to the newsletter for the Dulwich Society, the Old Greyhound and the Crown were two separate Public Houses which were both demolished about 1900 and replaced with the one, i.e. the Crown & Greyhound. The Greyhound Inn, Dulwich Village, built 1720 as the King's Head - name changed in the 1760s to the Greyhound Inn, pulled down in 1897 after the construction of the Crown and Greyhound opposite. **
High Street Dulwich is known as Dulwich Village by 1914, the Crown & Greyhound being near number 65; and at 73 Dulwich village by 1940 - this is sill a Castle (Mitchells & Butlers) pub in 2017
