Henry Samuel Onken, my husband's 2x great grandfather, ran the Duke of Sussex, 23 Baylis road, Lambeth SE1 Pub from July, 1892 to at least 1904, but maybe until John Cole took over in 1906. I know Henry eventually retired and lived at the Licensed Victualler Asylum along with many others. He not only ran the Duke of Sussex, but before that he ran the Duchess of Kent at 441 Liverpool Road N. for nearly 10 years.
