Underground lines : National Rail South Eastern
I visited Slade Green today, on the 6th June 2023. I had travelled from Cannon Street station on the South Eastern train. I believe it took about 45 minutes between the two stations.
The train travels first to London Bridge, then New Cross, and then a number of other stations including Blackheath and Bexley Heath.
The South Eastern train advertised it went to Slade Green, and I presumed this to be the end of the line. I exited the train and walked towards the exit which was a set of steps going downwards.
Someone walked past me in the opposite direction, and I now know that to cross the platforms I could have exited to the road, walked a long distance up to the bridge road crossing and re-enetered on the opposite side, via the car park. I chose to walk down the steps I had found, and now realised I had another set of steps to climb.
There is little signage, its all local knowledge.
Hey ho, I was not on the correct side of the platform. After some wait, avoiding two trains towards Gravesend, I think I recrossed the line via steps and subway, I returned to Cannon Street station. The train as I enterered was flashing warnings that this was the end of the line, and to exit the train. It soon became apparent this was just madness!
I now realse that another train company could probably run the service better. If I had stayed on the original train, I believe that it would have taken me to Abbey Wood, where I could catch the rather excellent Elizabeth line. I do not know as there was no clear signals at the station, or anyrthing else.

Step free access to Platform 1 for services towards London via side entrance on the junction of Whitehall Lane and Howbury Lane. No step free interchange between platforms. Step access between platforms via Subway.
If I remember correctly, there was also a gap / step to enter the train from the platform. From here there was a bus service running.
The best bit is that there is a brilliant and accessibe toilets at Cannon Street station, which is a very short walk from the brilliant new Bank Station in Cannon street. There are also toilets on the South East trains, I presume they are OK.
