Clapham Junction station Lift - in October 2021
I visited Clapham Junction by mistake on the 17th December 2024. I was on my way home from hospital and was heading for the Liverpool street line towards Southend.
Unfortunately, when we arrived there was absolutely no signage warning people that a solitary lift in this part of the station was not working.
It was very fortunate that the station were making an effort to help people, and a staff member eventually walked 9and pushed my wheelchair for the entirety of the incredibly long walk to a different entrance to the station where lifts existed. He also made sure we had a ramp onto the train which was impossible without such a lift, and organised a similar ramp at Waterloo when we arrived.
Brilliant, thank you.
Clapham Junction is on ThamesLink, and is accessible to wheelchair users between platform and street level by lift access. It is important to use the correct entrance. See pictures and further accessible transport in London detail from links below.
Underground lines : London Overground (West London line), ThamesLink
Accessibility friendly : Yes or NO (depends on whether the lifts are working).
General description : The station has step free access from St Johns Road entrance onto footbridge which has lifts to all platforms. Grant Road entrance does not have step free accessibility to platforms. See wiki
