YOUNG, Lieut. Oliver ... ... ... ... 4/Northumberland Fusiliers

Near CONCAVREU, 27th May, 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He took charge of a small party and successfully held up the enemy for a considerable period while the engineers destroyed a bridge. He organised a skilful defence in spite of heavy rifle and machine-gun fire. His consistent gallantry while fighting a rearguard action set a fine
example to all men serving under him, and caused heavy losses to the enemy.
