West Drayton pub history index
The name of this pub is given as the King's Head in the 1874 directory and earlier. This name may continue to have been used interchangeably with The Peggy Bedford after this time (it still appears as the name on Ordnance Survey maps, for example, well into the 20th century). Peggy Bedford was a former proprietor of the King's Head; her family were there in 1775 and she died in 1859 (see http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=22382).
