The Kilburn Times article from 1896 shows my great grandfather, William George Pardew Stanbury, becoming licensee of the Prince Alfred pub. William G P Stanbury was of most interest to me because he was a blood relation, but his sister also married a publican, Walter Silvester Jones, and his parents were also publicans. In 1891 he is an Inn assistant to his brother in law, in DSummerfield street, Lee. ** April 12th 1896 is the marriage of William George Pardew Stanbury, Hotel Manager, aged 24, and son of William Stanbury, publican to Nellie Cox, aged 21, daughter of Samuel Cox, Cab proprietor; in the parish of West Brompton. They divorce by 1908.

[Walter Silvester Jones is at the following - The Rutland Tavern, Lewisham ; Shakespeare Tavern, Kilburn ; Queen’s Head, Finchley ; and The George, Trinity Square, Soho] **
