Mr William Carter, of the Swan with Two Necks, Whetstone, Licensed Victualler, having for the sake of my large family humanely consented to forego all further law proceddings instituted against me for the gross language and unmanly conduct used by me towards Frances his wife, on Saturday last, I Hereby acknowledge my sincere regret for the same, and declare that the words used were utterly false, and without the slightest foundation, and for which I humbly beg her pardon. I have just found that an ancestor of mine Edward Trustram Wand shows up in 1860-1866 and maybe longer as the publican. **
He is listed in the 1860: London City Directory, the 1861 census has him resident at the pub with his wife Louisa 'Elizabeth Louisa Wand née Fryer' (1798-1886) and daughter Louisa Wand (1841-?), the 1862: Electoral Register, the 1864: London Overseer Returns and the 1865 and 1866 Electoral Registers.
[Edward Trustram Ward was born in 1801, Henlow, Bedfordshire; and died in 1895, Middlesex - probably East Finchley)]
