In 1898, Walter Dobbin is listed in the electoral register at 246 Woolwich
road, which is the Roupell Arms,
Charlton. The Kings Arms Woolwich was being run by Walter Dobbin on the 1901
census; then later in 1911 census he is managing the
British Queen in
Wimbledon.
So several members of my family were Licensed victuallers : James Dobbin and
his wife Ann; their son Walter Dobbin and his wife Louisa; their son-in-law
Percy H Twitchin; his brother Harry Dobbin senior and Harry junior; and
finally another brother-in-law James Bartlett was a wine vault keeper in
Camberwell. More detail is listed in the
Dobbin family page.
