Man Loaded with Mischielf

George, 1 Goodmans yard, Minories, Whitechapel E1

Whitechapel index

This pub lay at the intersection with Mansell Street, where it intersects with Goodmans Yard (under a spur from the main railway line at the time the pub was open, though that doesn't exist anymore). The Ordnance Survey maps I've looked at, which only show a pub at that location until the 1895 map, and after that (in the 1913, 1950s and 1960s maps), the layout of the streets changes and there doesn't seem to be any structure on that site. * The license transfers appear to refer to this as the George, Goodmans fields in 1849.
