Wednesday J Ripstin was committed for trial for a fraud, in obtaining £21 from Mr G Cox, landlord of the Sugar Loaf and Punch Bowl public house, Lower East Smithfield, on pretence that the landlord was exchequered from the Excie. This transaction took place in March last; and the prosecutor has since discovered that the prisoner was not employed by the Excise, and that he had imposed upon him altogether. He therefore applied at the Office for a warrant, and had him apprehended.
