At the North London Police court, Alice Blackford of the Welsh Harp , Homerton was summoned for threatening Keziah Howes, barmaid at the Captain Cook, Howard road, South Hornsey.
The husband of the defendant is the landlord of the Captain Cook, and Miss Howes is his barmaid. By order of the court Mr and Mrs Blackford are separated, and he has to pay her a pound a week. He did not pay regularly, and she went to draw the arrears.
She was bound over to keep the peace.
[ July 10th 1899 at St Philips, Lambeth are married Arthur William Richings, 25, a licensed victualler of 239 Kennington road, and Rose Wallis, 20 of the same address. His father, Joseph Richings is also a licensed victualler. ]
18th May 1900, Emily Constance Richings, Daughter of Arthur William Richings & Rose Richings, is baptised at St Matthias, Stoke Newington. Their address is the Captain Cook, Howard road, and her father is a publican.

Five weeks since Mr Arthur Richings applied to the Tottenham Justices for a transfer of the license of the Railway tavern Lower Edmonton. A fortnight afterwards he was taken ill, and on Saturday last he died, leaving behind him a young widow and one child.
The deceased was an old and respected employee of the New River Company, well known and respected by a large number of fellow workers from Wood Green to Ware. ]
