My 2Xgreatgrandfather is described in his will as "Henry Chapman, of The
Grapes Pulbic House Marlborough Street
in the parish of St. James Westminter...." He died in May 16, 1855.
Occupation on his death certificate is "Licensed Victualler" of 26 Great
Marlborough Street. I'm not sure if he actually owned the establishment or
just held the license. **
Henry's widow, Elizabeth Chapman, went on to marry a William Fountain, also
a licensed victualler. 1851& 1856 pub index: William Fountain, at the

30 Arthur Street, Kings Rd.
In 1861, they are at the Montpelier,
Montpelier Street, Newington
In the 1871 census William and Elizabeth are residing in Camberwell. William
is 61, licensed victualler "The Albion" Commercial Rd. In the 1881 census he
is a retired publican. **
