I also have a copy of Henry Fell’s will, dated 1808, which describes him as “Victualler of Curzon Street, Mayfair.” I presume that this would refer to the same establishment. Henry Fell is my Great(x4) Grandfather. ***

There is a trial about the theft of a pewter pot from the White Lion in 1815. “122. THOMAS CANTRELL was indicted for stealing, on the 31th of October 1815 , a pewter quart pot, value 1s. 6d. the property of James Baker . NOT GUILTY . ***
1815/JAMES BAKER . I am a publican , and keep the White Lion, in Curzon-street, May-fair . On the 31st of October, the prisoner was detected in stealing a pot of mine, and brought to my house. I am not sure that it is my pot, but I think it is. ***
