The pub was established in 1866 and rebuilt in its present form in 1925. At 27 Hindon Street in 1869, 1882 and 1901, and Hindon Street still exists in 1897 at the right of Victoria Station. Comparing 1915 Trade Directory data with that of 1882, this is at the corner of St Leonards Street; but by 1910 Hindon Street is now the higher numbered premises in Wilton road **
