St George Hanover Square pub history index
The earlier address is at 21 North Bruton mews, Berkeley Square W1. This is a Youngs pub in 2017. Although I can only confirm records back to 1806 at present viz a few Sun Fire Insurance records, this pub suggests that it was established in 1675 according to the sign board; and apparently the current building dates back to 1720. Allegedly there has been an inn on this site since 1423, although I am yet unable to confirm most references to this historical timeline.
One thing is clear, there are two servants in the 1841 census when James Lyne is a young victualler. By the 1851 census when he is still here, there are a considerable number of servants, although the majority of these could be lodgers.
