It was renamed the Duke of York in 1806 and rebuilt in its present form in 1886. At 8 Union Street before 1891 through road renaming. The address is also given as 8 Shepherd Street in 1856 and earlier, which is the intersecting street with Union Street (Shepherd Street was the name given to the street running south from Oxford Street, and Union Street ran east from New Bond Street; both are now known as Dering Street). *
