The Red Lion, Breezers Hill was run by Miss Mary Matilda Blinkhorn in 1869 &
1871 census; whilst this Red Lion at 196/197 St George Street is being run by
Johann Bullwinkel; these two Pubs are effectively opposite each other. **
Johann Bullwinkels married Adeline Blinkhorn, who I think was Mary
Matildas sister, and their son Johann is actually the John BW who bought
and sold the Grapes.
Which Red Lion did he inherit? 196/197 from his Father or Breezers Hill from
his maiden Aunt? **
Adelines father was Benjamin Blinkhorn a soldier in the Grenadier guards,
and some of his kids were born baptised in the Tower of London, so they have
not been transcribed by the docklands Ancestors chaps, although other kids
were Baptised at St George in the East church **
