Southwark St Olave pub history index
The 1861 census entry refers to the George, Bull Court - this is an error, as the previous entry is also the George.
This is named as the Bull's Head in 1839, and there are records going back to the 17th century in the London Metropolitan Archives mentioning a Black Bull at Tooleys Gate, Tooley Street, which appears to be an older name for Bull Court. *
Records in 1811 and 1827 also list this as the Bull or Black Bull, at Tooleys gateway; and the 1810 Lockes describes where Tooleys gateway is situated, at 63 Tooley street, nearly opposite Bermondsey street. John Lockie, in 1810 also describes - Bull Court, Tooley Street. See Tooleys Gateway.
