Richard Hollyman was born about 1800, and married to Sarah Miles in 1829 . Prior to the Dolphin, Richard was licensee at the Princess Royal around the 1841 census, and also highly likely to have been at the Harrow, in Stratford mid-time. They had seven sons who were all licensed victuallers or working at public houses at some stage in their lives. Richard died aged 54, on the 3rd August 1854 at 16 Long Alley, Shoreditch; and his wife Sarah continued running pubs for many years. Their sons were Thomas born in 1830, William born in 1831, Richard born in 1834, Henry born in 1838, Alfred born in 1842,  Robert born in 1845 and Joseph born about 1850.

Richard died aged 54, on the 3rd August 1854 at 16 Long Alley, Shoreditch. His widow Sarah continues to run the pub until at least 1861.

Messrs Self, son and Hill have received instructions from Mr Hollyman in consequence of the premises being required by the North London Railway Company, to sell by auction, on the Premises, the Dolphin Public house, Long alley, Moorfields, THIS DAY, August 26 at 12, all the HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, HOUSE and TRADE FIXTURES and FITTINGS, comprising feather beds and bedding, French and other bedsteads, chests of drawers, basin stands and dressing tables, dressing glasses, mahogany drinking tables, Windsor chairs, metal top counter, beer engine, casks, pipes, gas fittings, china, glass, beer and spirit measures, stoves, ranges, kitchen requisites, and miscellaneous effects. May be viewed, and Catalogues had, and of the Auctioneers, 24 City road.

Sarah Hollyman is at the Greyhound, Henrietta Street by October 1863, and then the Eight Bells, Church Street (Mare Street)..

[By 1871, Sarah Hollyman and son William are living at Zante Lodge, Seven Sisters Road, Islington.

Sarah Hollyman is buried the 16th February 1874, aged 68 years and living at 111 Sussex Road, Holloway.
