Existed from at least 1856. At 63 Pennyfields in 1856 and earlier. It was rebuilt in its present form following the 1934 slum-clearances in the area. The pub closed in 2000 and has been converted (and extended) for residential use. ** Now in use as a Cinese restaurant in 2017. ***
