I have my Mother’s birth certificate which shows that she was born in The George Hotel, Millwall Docks, Poplar on 23rd January 1905. Her father’s name was Claude Ravenscroft Phelps, described as Licenced Victualler. Her Mother’s maiden name was Innocent; and I note that a Lewis William Samuel Innocent described as a Licenced Victualler died in 1912. *
October 8th 1901, a mariage exists in South Hackney between Claude Ravenscroft Phelps, dealer in antiques, aged 24, son of Joseph Phelps to Beatrice Maude May Innocent, aged 20, of 47 Approach road. Her father is Lewis William Samuel Innocent, Licensed Victualler
