I am doing some work on my family tree and I have a birth certificate for my great great grandmother showing she was born in a pub. Jan 12th 1856 in the 'King Henry 8th, King Henry Street, Kingsland, Islington". Her name was Martha and her father William Jordan's occupation is 'Licensed Victualler' on the certificate. ***

In the 1856 Trade Directory, there is a Wm Jordan listed as a beer retailer & grocer in Back Road, Kingsland. This matches with an entry for a William Jordan, aged 59 in the 1861 census at 1 John Street, which intersects with Back Road.
