Eaglet, 124 Seven Sisters Road, Londo N7 6AE

Islington index

The address is at 1 Bellevue Terrace, Seven Sisters Road in 1869, prior to street renumbering. *

The Eaglet pub, in Seven Sisters Road, was all but destroyed during an aerial assault on September 29, 1917. The Gotha dropped a 50kg load on Alwyne Road, Islington, luckily with no casualties, then headed for Seven Sisters Road where it bombed the pub, killing four people. The ground and first floors and cellar were destroyed and timber and debris littered the road. The hardy pub is still going strong, serving thirsty punters today (2008). **
