"Archway" Tavern Highgate Hill in the County of Middlesex Licensed
Victualler deceased who died 24 February 1869 at Bath place Upper Holloway
in the County aforesaid was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of
Henry Lee of College House Highgate Hill aforesaid schoolmaster one of the
executors. Effects under £4000
In 1870 in the parish of St Pancras, Frederick Thompson, a publican aged 20,
son of Frederick Thompson, a deceased publican, marries Cecilia Annie
Chandler Cade, also aged 20, daughter of William Cade, a tailor. Some time
after, they take on the license of the
Old Pack Horse,
Chiswick. A separate marriage
banns mentions that both his parents are deceased, which is relevant as both
are under the age of consent of 21 to marry. They start life at the
Mitre, Richmond, Surrey
as managers.
