Archway Tavern, 1 Archway road, Islington N19

Address also listed as 2 Highgate Hill N19. Later known as Dusk 'til Dawn and since 2014, the Intrepid Fox. *+ After being empty for five years, the Archway Tavern re-opened its doors in 2019. There is a large pedestrianised area in front of the Tavern,  called Navigator square (previously Archway square) which was completed two years ago which revitalizes the area.

24th March 1869: The Will of Frederick Fitzjames Thompson late of the "Archway" Tavern Highgate Hill in the County of Middlesex Licensed Victualler deceased who died 24 February 1869 at Bath place Upper Holloway in the County aforesaid was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of Henry Lee of College House Highgate Hill aforesaid schoolmaster one of the executors. Effects under £4000

In 1870 in the parish of St Pancras, Frederick Thompson, a publican aged 20, son of Frederick Thompson, a deceased publican, marries Cecilia Annie Chandler Cade, also aged 20, daughter of William Cade, a tailor. Some time after, they take on the license of the Old Pack Horse, Chiswick. A separate marriage banns mentions that both his parents are deceased, which is relevant as both are under the age of consent of 21 to marry. They start life at the Mitre, Richmond, Surrey as managers.
