At Swan Place, Clapton Road in 1871 census. Up to at least the 1850s this pub was called the White Swan. This pub was present by 1745 and closed in January 2009. ** This pub is now used as a Jewish centre. *
The pub had recently been rebuilt when the photo of the Swan, 73 Clapton Common at the corner of Braydon road was taken. The neighbouring houses were destroyed and the pub lost it's upper storey in an air raid during WW2. ***
