My uncle, Harold Clayton had this pub in the late 1950's. His brother, Thomas
Clayton, took over the pub in about 1959. My father, Tom's brother, moved
into the pub in that year with my mother Margaret Clayton. Tom Clayton
bought a bar in Majorca in 1965 and my father James Clayton took over the
pub then. We moved out to a pub in Somerset in 1966. I'm sure another
Clayton had the Lord Stanley before Harold. It was his sister Elizabeth
Anderson (nee Clayton). ***
