In 1851 directory and 1861 census, listed as the Ferry House. Originally at Robin Hood Hill, then at High Hill Ferry, Upper Clapton by 1896. At Villas Walk (near High Hill Ferry) in the 1871 census. The 1905 canal side postcard, which shows the Beehive, also shows the pub sign for the Robin Hood, although the pub itself is not visible. This pub closed and was demolished in 2001. ** The photograph shows a circa 1886 photo of the Robin Hood, High Hill Ferry; the pub was rebuilt circa 1890 further back and higher up the hill from the river Lea after years of flooding.
