George Frederick Taylor, born in Hackney in 1815, was apprenticed to an Innholder; although after serving his seven years, his Father died about a month after, and he seems to have decided to take up his Fathers business interests as a Plumber, Glazier and Painter. *

On the Godfrey Edition of Old Ordnance Survey Maps – Hackney 1870, I discovered that on the rear it has a gazetteer of occupants of High Street, Mare Street and Well Street. *
My relative George Frederick Taylor is listed as Plumber at 126 Well Street and he had quite a number of property interests by 1870. I think about 10 properties from my recollection of his will. However, I also notice a pub listed as the Lion and Lamb at 93 Well street with the name G. Taylor beside it.
Looking at the Census for 1870 this seems also to have been known as Caledonia place, as terraces had previously had their own numbering system at one stage.
Looking on the map on the north side of Well street going from East to West we have Frampton Arms, 65 Well street on the corner of Frampton Park Road; then Lion and Lamb at 93 Well street ; then the Green Dragon at 123 Well street ; then Two Black Boys at 171 Well street.

[Emily Joy, was a 30 year old widow and servant in the 1861 census, she married Henry Langsdale in January 1862. Henry and James are both baptised in July, 1864 at the same time. Henry Langsdale is a beer retailer in Well street, Hackney at this time, and dies in 1865. John Clifton Langsdale is baptised in 1865, when Henry Langsdale is listed as a licensed victualler in Well street.]
