The Old Ivy House, 32 Hertford road on the 29th March 1998
It was taken on the 29/03/1998 when it was painted green and still had the name above the door. My mother lived opposite this pub and knew the landlord’s daughter as a young girl. She remained friends with Flo until she died. We were visiting the area on the above date as she was married in St Peter De Beauvoir church in 1938 and we were getting photos of the area for her Diamond wedding celebration **

James Richard Terry (b1878 d1923), my Great Uncle, was Licensed Victualler of the Brewers Arms, 100 Maroon treet, Limehouse, from 1902 to 1906. *+
He was then at the Ivy House, 32 Hertford Road, from at least 1906 to 1914. He was the son of James Terry, Crown and Dolphin etc.
When he left the Ivy House in 1914 he took over the Royal Oak, Loughton with his wife Florence Annetta Terry (nee Usher). James died there in 1923 and his wife continued there until 1925/6.
