My Grandfather (my mother's father), Hubert Dominic Wright was the licensee for this pub during the 1920's. There were 4 children in the family & they all lived on the pub premises, my mother was born in 1922. Although 84 she can remember when at 4 years old she lost the tips of her fingers when they got slammed in the pub's door & her father rushed her to the nearest hospital (no car in those days!) where they were unable to save the fingers.

She mentioned that her Aunts & Uncles also managed pubs in that area too but couldn't remember details. They had to move out of the pub in approx. 1930 when Hubert died suddenly. ***
