In the 1851 census, John Iszard is listed at 3 Retreat place, High Hill ferry running a lodging house and beer shop; whereas the 1841 census lists him as a bargeman living near Lea bridge. He is buried, aged 72 years, in 1860 having continued to live near Lea Bridge all this time.
At Providence Terrace in 1871 census. At High Hill Ferry, Upper Clapton by 1896. The 1911 electoral register refers to the address as being Hartington hill which leads up from the river. In 2017, it is currently a Fullers pub, and has been since at least 1983..
