My mum and dad ran the Queen, 81 Neate Street 1966 until 1970. My dad name was Edward Sidney Samual Pittman, and he was the licensee for the brewery called Watneys. ***
One day after heavy rain the celler flooded from the tunnel which went underground from the The Queen to The Nuns head, at Nun Head Lane. My dad told me that the tunnel was used for smuggling. ***
