Skinners Arms, 148 Neate street, Camberwell SE5

Camberwell pubs history index

This pub is named in the 1861 census, but though the street numbering is not yet set, I believe this is the same premises as is later occupied by Mr Ides Smith. Mr Matthews is a few entries along from Mr Smith in the 1861 census. The pub is also named in an 1888 Old Bailey trial, and the context of its mention suggests it may be in this location. Closed in 1905 as a pub through the compensation award scheme.*
