[Bisse Philips Sanderson 1788-1830 was the brother of Edward Henry Sanderson, apprentice of Edward Sherman and manager for Sherman at the Bull & Mouth, Bull and Mouth Street, Aldersgate.
Bisse left the Two Brewers around 1813 and was listed in Newgate Street, Aldersgate, close to the Bull & Mouth, as a Wine Merchant. His eldest child was born in Southwark not long before Bisse was recorded as bankrupt in 1816 and incarcerated at Kings Bench debtors' prison Southwark.
He subsequently moved around the city and to Worcester, as a Wine Merchant, before being bankrupt and in King's Bench prison again in 1824. His youngest son Arthur Sanderson 1829-1888 was born less than a year before Bisse died, age 42.
Arthur became a stationer, then went on to found world famous "Sanderson Wallpapers".
The condition of Bisse's mortal remains and his in-laws, the Stringfield family, was documented during an archaeological excavation of the crypt of St George's, Bloomsbury. **]
