I have found at least one earlier 'Inn holder' for the Saracens Head Aldgate during my research for ancestors:
Samuel Kynaston married widow Elizabeth Barnes in 1750 and became the 'Inn holder' as they were termed at the time it seems. Elizabeth was previously married to Joseph Barnes who was probably the 'Inn holder' before. Samuel was only around 21 years at the time and had just finished his apprenticeship as a 'Tinplate worker' (7 years)!! I found his release on Ancestry. *
