The Blue Boar in Aldgate High Street was present by 1685 and closed when the railways came to Aldgate in the mid 1800s. It is now demolished. ** A Blue Boar alley still exists in 2023 between Aldgate High street and street, running alongside Aldgate Station; although this is a farce as the alley has only existed for about five years!

I have found my 4th great grandfather Robert Andrews was an Ostler at the Blue Board inn in 1818.
I suspect he was there from 1814 - 1818 at least, but i only have the definitive record for 1818 at this time.
He was living there with his wife Amey, and at least three children. The baptism records of two of his children, which list his occupation as Ostler and his address as the Blue Boar Inn. ***
There is a possibility, of a Jane baptised in Aldgate, to Robert and Amey, Blue Boar yard. Born 4th March 1810.
There is also a possibility of a Sarah, baptised Chelmsford, Essex 1806. If this is worth following, there is also a Robert, baptised in Chelmsford in 1799. There is a marriage in Chelmsford of Robert Andrew and Amey Smith in 1798.

Robert Andrews, aged 54 buried in St Botolph Aldgate Jan 10th 1832, living in Somerset street. This was the old name for Mansell street

London City Press 28 September 1861 :
The Old Blue Boar, Aldgate - Another of those old coaching houses, so well known to the public of the past generations, has succumbed to the increased and still increasing wants of this vast metropolis. The Old Blue Boar has been demolished, and a splendid building erected on its site, by Messrs Adkin and Sons, the extensive tobacco manufacturers, who have appropriated it for the purposes of their trade, with all the newest appliances of machinery &c. During the excavations, many articles of antiquity, and of interest to the antiquarian were found, proving at one time the presence of the Romans. Several amphoroe and water vessels, with funeral urns, besides Roman coins, have of late been discovered in this district.
Messrs Adkins give employment to about one hundred hands, and are among the largest contributors to the Exchequer, in the shape of duty upon this fragrant weed. We shall soon lose all of our old signs and inns. No Blue Boars, Green Dragons, or Kings Heads, to the delight of the weary traveller.
