The New Truman Brewery in 1970

The New London Brewery

next are preparations at Wilkes Street & Grey Eagle Street site, the Hanbury Street site

The beginning of the year marked not only the the start of a decade, but also, for Trumans the start of reconstruction of the London Brewery; for on January 5th, work began.
Since this time, it has been remarked in the brewery that it looked as though it was taking place what had been planned; this indeed is so, and the start of actual constructioon marks only one point in a continuing process.
The following sequence of photographs projects the planning process forward to show you what the final result will look like, and records the progress up to the time that this magazine [Eagle] went to press.
The front plan is a map of the area, and will give you an indication of the relative position of the developmen sites to the existing brewery.
For convenience these sites are markes A, B, C and D. As work has not yet started on Site B, only the other htree sites are included in this supplement.
The building constructed on Site A is a complete brewery, to include liquor handling, Malt storage, brewhouse and fermenting sections; that on Site B will be a cold stire; that on Site C will be a draught beer production plant and storage area; and that on site D is the main engine room.
