The Coach & Bell was rebuilt around 1895, and demolished in 1956. On the
right of the picture can clearly be seen the Ind Coope Brewery, these buildings
still exist today as a listed building, until they 'by chance' burn down for the
sake of new development.

If you know Romford, you will recognise this
as London Road, where the current Woolworths exists, and a parade of shops
that include Mintz, Kerrs, Brentwood Nylons, Morgans shoe shop & the Romford
Recorder offices. I think I prefer it pre-1956. What a cracking Public
House. Boots had moved to South Street by 1914.
You may find that Mintz has gone, something to do with 'playing with young
boys' if I remember. I may be wrong, but paedophiles exist around every
corner.
