Tuesday 25 October 2022 : Boasting a brand-new look, the Sir John Gibson has burst back into life following a £233,000 investment into the Stanwell-based pub.
The community pub, named after a wartime hero, is welcoming back guests once again following its transformation both inside and out. This refurbishment has given the pub a new lease of life, outside, the pub’s spacious garden has seen its seating area added to, with further space for guests to enjoy any autumn sunshine.
Speaking on the refurbishment, Operator at the Sir John Gibson, Danielle Chaplin said “We have a great community feel at the pub, and to reopen seeing so many familiar faces after our refurbishment feels amazing. The new look is attracting a lot of attention in the local area and we’ve had lots of compliments already.”
With an unbeatable offer of beers, ciders, wines and spirits from the bar, a range of non-alcoholic drinks are also available alongside bar snacks at this friendly community pub.
The Sir John Gibson has also received new sporting entertainment during the refurbishment with a new pool table, illuminated darts board and gaming machines added for guests to enjoy throughout the week. As well as these improvements, eight large TVs are available to make sure there isn’t a bad seat in the house to watch all of the biggest sporting occasions right in the heart of Stanwell, with BT Sport and Sky Sports shown daily.
Elsewhere entertainment comes from the pub’s live music nights which include performances from the popular local band Dollery and Hamilton. News of upcoming events can be found on the Sir John Gibson Facebook page.
Danielle added “The majority of our guests are big sports fans, so to add to our visual offering of live sports is a huge step forward for us. With the addition of the new pool table and darts board, there is plenty to keep our guests occupied whilst enjoying a few drinks here at the pub.”
The Sir John Gibson is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards.
