Harlington pub history index
This is a beer house in the Dawley brickfields near to the canal. It is named the Cottage in the 1891 census, although this maybe more descriptive. It is mentioned in 1911 as a beer house, and also named the Dawley Cottage; as it is also named in the 1939 electoral register.
I am a descendent of Catherine George and I thought you may want a picture of the Cottage. I think this photo was taken around the 1950s and I think it stopped being a pub about then too. I remember we used to go there to see my Auntie in the 1970s but then Stockley Park came and they forced her out so she sold up and moved to Essex and died last year. Catherine George was her Grandmother and my Great Great Grandmother. *
