Fire - A Fire resulting in a public house being burnt down, was discovered at half past 3 o'clock on the morning of Thursday last at the Crown and Masons Arms, Cannon row, Woolwich, in the occupation of Mr William Dibbins.
In a few minutes after the alarm was given the engine of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, from the Sun street station, was in attendance, followed by 2 hose reels from the Royal Arsenal, in charge of Chief Inspector Carnelly, and the parish hose reel.
Superintendant Thomson of the dockyard, and Superintndant Griffis, of Greenwich, were also in attendance.
There was some delay occasioned in consequence of the water not being turned on at the main. The public house and contents were entirely destroyed.
