Stag, 1 Castle Lane, St Margaret, Westminster

Westminster St Margaret index

This pub stood on the east side of Castle Lane, next to the schoolrooms of Westminster Chapel. It was presumably named after the Stag Brewery, which was at the end of the street, but I have not been able to prove any particular connection, except that it was called the “Stag Tap” in the 1891 Census. I cannot find it in the 1911 Census, and the building has disappeared on the 1919 OS map. ***
