Carpenters Arms, 20 Catherine Street, Pimlico, St Margaret, Westminster

Westminster St Margaret index

This pub stood on the corner of Catherine Street and Stafford Place South. In 1851 and earlier, it gave its address as 19 Stafford Place South, then up to and including 1881, it was 27 Catherine Street, presumably by moving the entrance round the corner. (At the same time, the Censuses stopped listing 19 Stafford Place South). By 1891, Stafford Place South had been incorporated into Catherine Street, which would have been accompanied by some re-numbering. The modern Catherine Place retains the dog-leg shape created by this incorporation. *
