Chequers, 11 Abingdon Street, St John, Westminster

This house stood on the corner of Little Abingdon Street, which ran through to the river just to the south of where the present Houses of Parliament stand. It was demolished in the 1860s during the construction of London’s sewage system, and the site is now covered by Victoria Tower Gardens. *
