My great grandfather John Lawn was a publican in the early 1890s. I always knew he had the Railway Tavern at Barnes at one time, and I also knew that he had another pub at Wandsworth. According to the 1891 census he, John Lawn, lived at 123 North Street (later Fairfield Street) Wandsworth. It was only recently that an English relative told me it was actually the Railway Tavern, which he said was detroyed in the blitz.  *
