Wandsworth pub history index
A great picture of the Angel circa 1890 is here. A Youngs public house since 1872 apparently dating back to 1617. The 1881 census lists this in Putney.

The Angel was owned freehold by William Sowster (1731 – 1797) who in his
will passed the premises on to his son William Sowster (1758 – 1826). (Both
left detailed wills). William junior ended up owning several properties in
Putney and Roehampton, such that the pub was run by William’s brother John
Souster (1765 – approx. 1826) (plenty of records of John in the Surrey
Licensed Victuallers listings over the years, certainly up to 1824), to whom
the pub was eventually bequeathed on William’s death. *

being publican at the Angel in 1835 and in 1858, but he seems to have taken
over after John’s death. *
