The Hope and Anchor was started by my grandmother's grandmother who was by the 1860's known as Mrs Thunder. She moved out to Tottenham Hale and realised that the Market gardeners had nowhere to get a drink. So she started to brew beer. This was in Railway Cottages. After her death my great grandfather Thomas Lambourn ran the pub. *
