In 1708 : A New View of London by Edward Hatton lists Black bull inn, at the North Side of Hatton Wall.

In 1720 John Strypes map and suvey of Farringdon without lists '24 White Horse Inn'.

In 1746, JOhn Rocques map of London names the Bull Inn, and a passage leading from north of Hatton Wall leading to Windmill hill, later named Back Hill.
