Half Moon, 88 Gracechurch street, London EC3

St Peter Cornhill index

This pub was present by 1759, and started life as the very long-established Half Moon Tavern. In 1764, it is the meeting place of the Caledonian Masonic Lodge, as listed in 1813 listing of the Masonic lodges.  This also had a 'Tap' bar which is listed separately in at least one old Directory. In 1881 the pub was rebuilt, and now the New Moon sometime after 1944. ***

It is likely that the Half Moon was built by the Lee family.
